Re: Land of Thousand Sorry Restaurants

I've found that living here has really helped my own cooking skills since it's the only way to get reasonably priced food that you can actually enjoy.
So that's something to be thankful for.

Re: American Breakfast... Anywhere?

Some hotels have good breakfast if you don't mind paying 16€+ for it.
Otherwise I haven't seen any Classic American Breakfast in the last seven years.
Fortunately, It's been a good opportunity to learn how to cook food I enjoy.

Re: Half broken bearing in washing machine

here's a video how to replace the bearings. I bought a washing machine door handle from these guys and everything went well replacing it. Bearings are obviously more challenging.

Re: What to do?Nanny with a problematic child

The child could likely have a behavior challenge like adhd or something similar. Eliminating all or most sugar in his diet might help. Otherwise the parents might want to consult professional help from the neuvola. It's a bit early to know as he's only 3 years old.

Re: Travel insurance for Hubby and I to US?

We use IF travel insurance that is for wherever we travel as long as the trip is within 45 days. On one our journeys we had a 1000 + dollar trip to the emergency room and it was totally covered without any difficulty for us. I've heard that just buying travel insurance to the states is more expensive.

Re: Living in Kartanonkoski

I have friends that have kids that have attended the Vantaa International School and they have had positive experience.
Our family, including 3 small children are moving to Kartanokoski in a few weeks because the area is beautiful and close enough to any kind of shopping you need.

Re: K-Plussa kortti ... is it worth it?

The k & s cards are useful. If I get much bonuses at the end of the month it reminds me that I shopped to much at their stores and need to visit Lidl more often.

Re: If you had to do it again, what would you bring?

small things that you may use often can cost a lot more here. Better quality disposable razors, contact lenses, etc. If you like American recipes then a set of american measuring cups would be helpful. http://behnfords.myvisio.com/index.php?language=en Their a link to the store that sales some Ameri...
