Re: Electrolysis hair removal in Tampere and nearby

It seems hair removal by electrolysis is called "neulaepilaatio" ("needle epilation") in Finland. I found one place doing it in Tampere and google reviews are pretty positive in general. Kauneus ja lymfahoitola Petite Cabinette.

Re: Applying for a residence permit for PhD, what should I answer to "how long do you intend to stay in Finland?"

This might be a question of taste. I would reply until the end of PhD studies, until getting the degree. Because that indicates that you are coming to Finland to get a PhD degree not just to linger around and pretend to study. And after getting the PhD degree, you would possibly like to stay in Finl...

Re: tallow?

ok, but REKO will bring you stuff straight from the producers. And you can get a direct contact to them. If you cook a lot at home, REKO would be the best solution imo. you can join your local REKO on fb, and then follow what kind of products you can buy there. The Reko in my area has at least two m...

Re: Layoffs in Finland

As said above, you don't need TEK or other unions to give you advice on your rights. YTK annex provides the same services much cheaper. TEK is terribly expensive breeding ground for kokoomus-politicians, I was shocked when I discovered how they waste money, then I just left. Here is a website where ...

You could check what the thrift shops have. UFF, FIDA. My favourite is the SPR Kontti, run by the Red Cross of Finland. I have bought so much stuff there, I really do like their shops. Once you know what you need or want to use, you could invest in new items. The major sales are just before or after...

Re: Stationery items in Finland vs Japan

Geez Finlandboy.... what a reply. People still use paper and pens. Apart from muji, have not seen japanese office items in helsinki. Op: that is a cute idea. In my opinion. pencils are not anymore in use, only perhaps the people who do crosswords use them. Correction items also limited use. No5 soun...
