Re: Doctors?
And there's the gene infection? The standard response purely put out! The same as said to refugees, other victims of racial crimes! And NO, I don't expect coddling, but you see, the tax office does coddle me! They'd do a lot more if there was more greens involved! And no, the tax office d...

Correct! I have a moral problem with it though: Why pay taxes for this rubbish level of coverage? You pay taxes for privilege of living in this land. You are perfectly free to @#$% off if not happy. Finland and Finns are not going to bend over to appease your ass. Strange, how the tax office adjust...

Re: What are valid reasons to request change from joint to single custody in this country
There are quite a few things you cannot do if child is in shared custody. IiRC, she cannot take kid abroad for example. There will be issues with bank, as many things require you to have sole custody or letter of authority from other parent. This applies even without custody. I need letters from wif...

n.b. Having access to internet is not something I would expect in a S-African prison. Many things in your story sound weird. I am on probation, I paid 2000 Euros for that in South Africa. They took away my passport and refused to let me leave, but Finland does not want me to transfer back...

Although I could easily pay the mortgage on 50% of the house, the bank would only agree to a joint 50% mortgage due to me being a foreigner basically. So, he retained his original 50% share, and went on a joint mortgage with me for the additional 50%, but I agreed to pay the entire amount which wor...

She can go to Helsinki without any knowledge of finnish, it is possible. I know a lot of people who live in Finland, have a job and don't speak finnish and get good money. About the rest... of course we don't know how much money she has, but if she can get a job in Finland, she actually has good ch...

Re: Kratom
I am very worried about this. I should not have to break the law just to have my anxiety and depression kept at bay with an herb rather than a manufacture pharmaceutical. You should come up with an alternative to Kratom. You could book a time to a doctor here the day after you arrive, for example. ...

Do you guys think that Valo is going to still do solo work (I know he released a solo album or a single)? I heard somewhere that he had health problems. I hope he'll still be around for a while. Haven't got a clue, my musical taste goes in bit different direction so have not paid any attention. You...

If they manage to get me to court I am going to argue that the law goes against a clause in the Finnish constitution that guarantees the right to equal treatment. Schengen EU countries have the possibility of adopting national rules obliging you to hold or carry papers and documents when you are pr...

Yes. I think it is really horrible policy pulling the car away without letting the owner know at least. I have seen somewhere the guy leaves a note when they tow the car away. Also, really dont get it as many cars around remained the same for days and not a single ticket. :( Leave note? Where? On t...

Re: Where can I invest €100,000 to generate income?
I hope both the OP and respondents are aware that there's quite a risk of being scammed. Unless someone promises you unrealistic returns, in Finland, €100,000 isn't nearly enough to live on the returns of a safe investment. Typical business loan rates are below 3% right now, i.e. yielding less than...

Re: Coffee in Finland
One had a chocolaty side taste. I think I have that, I also have a "vietnamese filter" for it and the result is quite pleasant, although not my morning cup either. I guess the way they roast it makes it have that taste. Did you buy the roasted coffee bag from Vietnam? If it is can I know ...
