Re: Being pregnant in Finland - experiences

We have such insurance at Tapiola and I am really glad we did it. The time it takes to get a doctor appointment at the terveysasema is often just too long - especially if it is not an urgent case, plus when it is private we get to choose the doctor. Even a generally healthy child often ends up going...

Re: Unemployment and maternety leave money

Perhaps Im a terrible mom but I can't stand being at home for so long ! :D It doesn't turn you into a terrible mom at all and it doesn't mean you love your child any tiny bit less if you wish to have some time for yourself or feel you can't stand being at home for so long (respect for managing to d...

I was asking about it nearly two years ago and what I found out is that at least at that time there was no company in Finland doing it commercially. Only thing they do is sometimes (and only in some places) collect it to the Finnish Cord Blood Bank, and then it is more or less as donation - you do n...

Hi Sharon  I stopped mashing T's food already 2-3 months ago, he doesn't need it anymore. It might apply to D as well. Concerning recipes - basicly at this age he can just eat the same as you, cut in smaller pieces of course. Salt is also not a problem (at least as long as the food is not extr...

12.30 at the metro station is fine with me (but if there are others coming who prefer 12:00 it's ok as well).

See you then!

Re: Nobody in Lapland?

Hi miti, But if one was to bring work there... Would the real Lapp.s go back to live there. What would you do in that case? Poule I have actually no idea what you mean by the sentence "Would the real Lapp.s go back to live there" but as for me - yes, with a secure and interesting job I wo...

I lived in Lapland for a while (Rovaniemi) and I loved it. If it would be possible I would stay there forever, but we had to move to the South because of the job - it is hard enough for locals to find job there, and even harder for foreigners. For those who love big cities it is definitely not the r...
