Re: New government’s proposed changes to citizenship and residence permits

My time in Finland is up I guess. My RP is up for renewal/becoming permanent in 2 years, well whatever. I've been working in Finland for 4 years, and lived in for 7. It's been fun yall, some the best years I've ever lived where right here in Finland, and that's coming from someone that lived in the...

Re: New government’s proposed changes to citizenship and residence permits

I'm looking forward to the civics tests, questions about my faves Sibelius, Aleksis Kivi, lenkki sauna etiquette and isännöitsijä mediation. There will also be a portion where you have to down a bottle of koskenkorva, eat a box of mämmi and pass out in the sauna. God help us if Perussuom...

Re: Threat of war

Propaganda from both sides is all over social media at the moment and this forum may be no different. Newly registered users with opinions on the Nato topic should be taken with a pinch of salt. Whichever side you are on it's very sad what is happening in Ukraine. I have thought a lot about the Nato...

Is it nice to be 3rd country citizen right now? Brexit was served!
I imagine most of the people on here wouldn't have voted for it. People like me who have lived in Finland over 15 years weren't even allowed to vote. Maybe save your hubris for the people who did vote for it.

Re: Bad sewage smell coming from the bathroom/toilet

It's called a stink lock. God knows what it's called in finnish. If the drains not been put in straight it can be hard to get a correct seal.

Haisee lukko? lol

Hajulukko apparently.

Re: Indoors Ice skating

Indoor ice skating doesn't really seem to be a thing in Finland. All the ice rinks are booked for teams with over-the-top coaches living out their dreams through kids and ruining the experience for all the kids who aren't at the highest level. If you're lucky you'll get to ice skate outside normally...

Re: Many Saints Of Newark

Well I suppose I know the answer already. It'll be because they didn't stump up the cash to buy the rights to show it. Or it might be coming later, perhaps mid-October like in Sweden: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8110232/releaseinfo I hope so but it is not listed here so I think it's likely not unf...

Re: Many Saints Of Newark

Yeah I can easily download it, I would just like to go to the cinema to watch it. Finnkino has been spamming me begging emails all pandemic (along with Finnair) now finally i'm double jabbed and there is something I want to watch it seems they are not showing it. Use their contact form to ask them ...

I didn't even check do you need a mask in the cinema. Looks like I won't be going now until The Matrix at xmas anyway. I'm in the Finnair rewards programme and they have been sending emails everyday 😁

Many Saints Of Newark

Anyone know why the Many Saints Of Newark doesn't seem to be on in the cinema here in Helsinki?

I was looking forward to going to watch this in the cinema and I can't see it on Finnkino anywhere.

Is it going to be on HBO or something instead?

Can't seem to find anything about it.

Re: Swimming and Football lessons for kids in Helsinki

My kids went here to learn how to swim: https://orca.fi/ That was very good. They went here for football: https://www.fckontu.fi/ Not so good as the coach was very shouty and rude (it's very hit and miss with Junior football, could be you get a good coach in the same organization) https://www.valtti...
