Re: abusive boyfriend
Change your phone number to a new one. Get a turvakielto. Include any screenshots of threatening messages or police reports. REACH out to social services asap. They can help you. There are women's shelters. Turvakoti and the like. https://ensijaturvakotienliitto.fi/vantaanturvakoti/ They will help y...

Re: Recommend a good moving company in Vantaa?
I used a very good man and van service, I think it was paku24.fi. excellent service and clear pricing There are also many other mies ja paku type of service. What is important is to check the basis of charging: does it start from where they leave or when they arrive at your place, how much per hour...

Recommend a good moving company in Vantaa?
I don't have a license so I'd need the movers to drive and haul my furniture up like 3 flights of stairs.
Can anyone recommend a good moving company to me? I'm moving within Vantaa.
I appreciate it!

Re: What affordable dental services can I find in helsinki?
I am student from Asia. I got some cavities and a sensitive tooth. I visited a dentist at a public clinic. She gave me a temporary filling and said that I may need a tooth removed because it's too skewed and would continue to create cavities. She told me to make an appointment, but the only date av...

I haven't used this place but it got some good reviews here and there. https://www.megaklinikka.fi Price list : https://www.megaklinikka.fi/hinnasto If you're in pain you can always contact emergency dentist. You have to do it EARLY though. This is public health too. https://www.hel.fi/helsinki/en/s...

Weird issues with pharmacy keeping stuff in stock?
Anyone else been having this issue? The past half a year almost I've been trying to buy prescription ear drops, they don't have it in stock. It's a "shortage since the manufacturer won't deliver" it or something. I had to call 3 different pharmacies to get my inhaler as well. Thankfully fo...

Re: Posti Mail collection boxes
I know that Posti have automated collection points. However all packages seem to be going to the home or to the Post Office for collection. Has anyone experienced this or knows how to ensure that all mail goes to the box ? Thanks Honest to God I just put a ton of stamps on my stuff and hope for the...

Re: Police ID for temporary resident
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I didn't see an example that exactly matched my circumstances. I would like to get an official Finnish identity card (the kind that the police issue) because my bank is saying I need a Finnish ID to get access to electronic identification codes. The webs...

Re: One of Finland's Darkest Moments
Perhaps some think my subject-title is an exaggeration. For those that think headlines should be world-shaking events, it surely is. But having lived in Finland for MANY years, this kind of behavior and attitude, to me, would have been unthinkable not too many years ago. And would have received far...

Re: How busy are Migri service points / how long morning que
What they mean with this? "If you arrive without booking an appointment, you will most likely have to queue for a very long time and still not get to handle your matter during the same day." http://www.migri.fi/our_services/service_points Does it mean that in the first day I get queue num...

Re: How busy are Migri service points / how long morning que
In the news they told that in Helsinki service point you should come 6 in the morning ( two hours before opening time ) or earlier to get queue number. Is it the same in Lahti, Tampere and Raisio? I could easily go to any of those three. Or even to Helsinki if the queue is shortest there. In intern...

Re: Residence Permit, question about technical decision
Hi, I am a chef in the USA of 23 years. I found a job offer in Tampere last November and applied for the residence permit in December. I have been living and working in the USA waiting for the permit decision. An immigration officer showed up at my girlfriends door in Finland, requesting to speak w...
