Re: Local British idiot seeks advice

Since it's gaming industry that you're interested in, I'd directly check their websites, see what they are currently offering, and contact them even if there are no openings posted. Don't know how up-to-date the list is, but at least a starting point: https://www.neogames.fi/en/industry-info/operato...

Re: Unemployment benefit and holidays

In short, no matter wherever one is located, the same rules and requirements still apply. One can collect unemployment benefit while traveling, TE-palvelut is not tracking you, nor is one required to report comings and goings, one can provide TE-palvelut an address where one can be reached, BUT bein...

Re: Local British idiot seeks advice

There are loads of jobs e.g. in LinkedIn, at least for IT in general. One has to remember that Finland has some 5+ million inhabitants, the job or any other market cannot be compared to countries with multiple times that. Also, it is not uncommon that a foreigner thinks that the capital area (Helsin...

Re: Question about bittorrent - why doesn't it work in Finland?

There's nothing inherently illegal in bit torrent (illegal content over any protocol is another matter), and as already stated, ISP's aren't blocking the traffic on protocol level. In any case it's best to always use a proper secured VPN connection when using the Internet, be it on a mobile or a PC...

Re: Local British idiot seeks advice

Work experience of a few years in the same field/a similar job trumps formal education (without the same experience), having proof that you can actually perform in the job, that's what ultimately matters for the hiring employer.

Re: municipality of residence

Where did you get the idea of a 2 year minimum? A notification of move is required always when moving permanently (or temporarily for more than 3 months). https://www.maistraatti.fi/en/Services/ ... n-of-move/

Re: Citizenship application

Ulosotto in itself is not grounds for denying a passport application (unless related to something for which one is under criminal investigation).

The place where the Visa application would be submitted can give you a definite answer, I suggest you ask them.

Re: Moving To Finland And Looking For Work

For both security guard duties and commercial kitchen work you need some local qualifications, namely vartijakortti (license for working as a security guard, granted by the police after having passed the required training and fulfilling other criteria, age, criminal history etc.) and hygieniapassi (...

If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest that you contact Migri and ask them.

Re: Fishing in Kieloranta

Have you asked Kieloranta?

Kieloranta seems to be in Hämeenlinna, for those who don't know, I had to check as I didn't. I'm not from around there so can't give any tips.

Re: Huuto fraud ? What to do ?

About spreading accusations I don't think so. Different countries anyway. Different countries or not, slander is a criminal offense as well, of which you might be guilty, should it turn out that there was no fraud after all. I have proof with receipt of the payment. You have proof that you have pai...
