Re: Violation of employee's right in Finland

What I was trying to say is that the holidays are based on long term work relationship; if you work less than a year (depends when ou start), you are not allowed to have winterholiday or summerholiday. In other countries you just build up every month 2 or 2,5 days and if you start in May in a new j...

Re: Unbelievable Pizza

well ok - if you put a monkey at the piano - and wait long enough you will get some Beethoven

so with 3457 Kebab places now in Hki - maybe one of them has found out how to make pizza

will give it a shot

Re: Unbelievable Pizza

I'm still waiting for a good real pizza from a kebab place. Some of them have a cheese/tomato edible combinatipon on some kind of dough they bake - but they always seem to have the same unwelcome after-taste. The only pizzas I've gotten that resemble real pizza are the ones from Italian-type restaur...

No - haven't been

But any place selling pizza AND kebab has to raise SERIOUS suspicions!

Re: Violation of employee's right in Finland

No, but they are still counting Saturday as a working day for counting holiday days, very progressive country
Of all the possible injustices I really don't think Finns have anything to complain about 'holiday time'

Re: Hakaniemi - Disappointment

when it comes to lidl - i just don't feel comfortable supporting an organization like that.
Do you feel comfortable supporting Kesko and S-Group which rip ALL people off - including their own employees?

Re: Where to pick up my LARGE package?

The only Asian country that MIGHT someday be in the EU is Turkey - so you don't have to worry about anyone leaving it at your doorstep. You will almost surely be getting a note from Finnish Customs to come and explain why you shouldn't pay a significant amount of customs and ALV(VAT) - also chargeab...

Re: Tang drink mix

And do try to take some good tasting orange juice and add 'to taste' some Sitruunahappo - available in decent sized plastic containers (eg Heino -- Sallinen is brand) for only a few Euros.

You will almost surely get something BETTER than Tang!

Lidl -- K/S etc.

I started a topic with the wrong name of a marketplace - the latest posts ended up being about Lidl A poster is thinking Lidl's produce (HEVI) is filled with poisons - and also that they have lousy labor policies. My last post on the wrongly named topic was this - I thought it might be a place to st...

Re: Hakaniemi - Disappointment

I have to agree basically. There is the question of Lidl's employment policies - but as far as I know they follow the law and Finland has some of the planet's most employee-favorable laws. It probably acts as an entry place for young workers - just as McD's - nothing wrong with that. I started life ...

Re: Hakaniemi - Disappointment

The supply chains in food business is SO dynamic that generalizations are extremely difficult. I doubt Lidl has any worse suppliers than other Finnish retailers. The 'organic' system is so filled with nonsense and ridiculously inflated prices that it is too damn difficult to get to the bottom of it....
