Re: Citizenship Application 2021

I would like to assume if your residence permit has less than one year of validity at the time you apply for citizenship, you will not get a decision on your citizenship application before you have extended your residence permit. In other words, people whose residence permits are expiring within th...

Re: Applying for Citizenship

They don't really say it's a dedicated interview, but it takes 30 minutes. They talk to you a bit about your application, how long you've been in Finland, your travels, etc. Nothing unusual.

Thanks for replying. It's a public organization
That's a key piece of information you left out. It invalidates my previous comment, which was about modern private sector IT companies. I don't have much experience with public organisations, but 4500 seems very good.

Re: Average salary for experienced software developer?

In Helsinki, about 5,000 is reasonable, so ask for 6,000. If you bring something true valuable to the table (something that isn't looking up jQuery questions on Stackoverflow for 7 years), then ask for 7,000.

Indeed. Thanks for the correction. I noticed my mistake once I found the article from 2014. I've edited my answer.

Re: Help charged with medicine offence

Correction: Looks like I was wrong about 5-HTP not being controlled in Finland (which is utterly insane). The rest of the comment still stands. I've removed the faulty parts. First of all, relax. You're not yet being charged with anything. At this stage, you're only suspected of a crime. The charge...

Re: Can deadline for submission of SAT score be postponed

Contact the UAS' admission office and explain the situation in 3-4 lines maximum. It's helpful if you link some official news story and a link to the announcement by the test centre.

samsona112, for your mental sanity, I suggest you don't engage with them. They're known trolls here. Trust me, a few years ago I was, myself, trolling here and I know that behaviour very well. Just let them talk with themselves.

Re: Secure disposal of HDD

I'm not aware of an entity in Finland that would provide such service for individuals. At my previous firm, the IT provider had such service for some laptops as that was required if HDD/SSD was involved in some government entities' projects, but I'm not aware of them giving such service to individua...

Re: Tax report on stocks

Earnings are reported as capital gain and is taxed 30% for earnings up to 30k, and 34% for higher than 30k. Losses can be used to offset other earnings and thus lower the tax burden. This means that, in the end, you're taxed on your total capital income not each individual income item. Official info...

There's no definitive answer. It depends on the queue, your application, and your personal circumstances.

Re: Multi-level marketing for QNEurope.

Multi-level marketing (MLM) companies, no matter where they're based or what products they sell, are, without an exception, scams. Don't sign up, stay away, and keep your money. You'll see a lot of comments online saying that multi-level marketing companies are legitimate business where you can actu...
