Re: The landlord is trying to fine me after I moved out

It's strange you've been there 5 years and never had an inspection. I would have thought it was a legal requirement to inspect the flat for wear and tear. If it is, and the landlord has failed to meet that obligation, I would say you have a good case.

Re: free English classes in Oulu

My native language is Persian (or Farsi). and Thank you for your suggestion, but How can I find SB in Oulu who is training Farsi. You could maybe try the notice boards in the linguistics department of the university, or library. I'm not so sure how popular or useful Farsi would be to a Finn though....

Re: free English classes in Oulu

Your level of English language seems pretty good. Maybe you are looking for one to one practice? If this is the case, what is your native language? Maybe you can do some kind of lesson exchange with someone who speaks really good English in return for lessons in (I'm guessing) Arabic for example.

My Humus recipe

Here's how I make humus. I basically asked a Greek guy I knew what the ingredients were, then played with the quantities. He said there were 2 different kinds of tahini (yellow and green) that will give you a slightly different flavour. If you have any variations, post it up with some info about whe...

You could also post something around a couple of kerros taloja. People tend to buy new bikes and keep their old ones around until they get thrown out by the rental company.

Re: I want to buy cheap second hand bike for woman ..

Flowers have always worked for me :P but anyway, I've always had luck posting a wanted ad on the supermarket notice boards.
If you tell us your town, maybe someone will suggest a local recycle place place or something.

Re: Residence permit

He probably meant the card you get when you register. It's usually issued for 5 years. Before mine ran out I went to the police and registered again, but I never got a second card.. not sure what happened there.. Yep, AKA the ID card -- Has a picture, nationality, Finnish ID number, signature etc.....

Residence permit

[Already living in Finland, but posted in the section about residence permits] Whoops, just noticed my residence permit card, issued by the police, ran out in 2007  So, what would happen if I go to the police station and tell them I've been living here with an expired RP? I'm from the UK if it...

New drink for the summer...

Herbal diet coke!
5 drops in a small glass, 10 in a big one. You can get it from most health food shops. Here is a description from a link I googled...

Haven't tried it in regular coke yet.

Test your Finnish knowledge.

Not sure if you guys know about this or not, but here goes anyway...

Select Finnish in the drop-down menu next to your native language's flag: http://www.goethe-verlag.com/tests/index1.htm

Enjoy.
