Another point that I meant by my comment, is that in Finnish culture a meal is just nourishment, made to fill you up...it is not a taste experience, or a celebration of life like it is in other cultures. If you spread comments like this around, i am not surpriced if your in-laws start to pick you a...

There is some different styles of peanut butter in International food shop close to Sörnäinen station at Hämeentie. Not Kraft tough but they have both chunky and smooth ones (someone asked after chunky style earlier).

I would like to point out here that my reply was for Caroline not for happening fish. It was comment about her post about her families and friends eating habbits and criticizing those habbits Ok, I went back to read that post (and not only the quote) and it fits in the context of that message. Stil...

Why not cook healthy and yummy vegetarian meals for yourself and set a nice example for your surroundings instead of criticism? The fish already does so (why not? - I don't get that assumption) and why is that "a nice example for the surroundings"? I would like to point out here that my r...

It is hard to convince the average Finn, for whom a bowl of porridge, a slice of black bread coated with butter and a slice of ham, and a cup of coffee is a meal fit for a king. However, in the few years that I've been here, I've noticed more diversity of products, both grown produce and prepared o...

I can see it can be hard to be vegetarian here if you are not ready to change your eating habbits from what it was back 'home'. It just is the fact that this is not the land of fresh exotic fruit and veggies, and no whining will change the fact that those things don't grow here. Lack of pre-made veg...

Got my working schedules for that period and i am definately working on 18th so i cannot come this time :(

Naturally Thomas can come alone, as long as some responsible soul will make sure he doesn't take his kurahousut and kurarukkaset off and catch a cold in middle of the bowling. 8)

Asian market in Hakaniemi (opposite side of UFF-store at Hämeentie) sells dutch Pindakaas. I am not a fan of peanut butter but the people i know that are, all swear on it. Fits also for making sate sauces etc, because it's not sweetened. That shop is really nice one for other food hunts as well, i'v...

Outside temperature was -1c. It was especially painfull welcoming as i left N...
