Re: Newborn baby’s name recommendation

I really like the name Anja. And yes, you pronounce the "n", so it wouldn't be "Ah yeah"

Re: Stationery items in Finland vs Japan

I second Number 5.

For this kind of gift, I figure it's more about the cuteness and design of the stationary than the practicality. Whatever specific item you think would make a cute gift would probably work well.

Re: Vegetable garde

If you continue trouble with tomato plants, I used to grow cherry tomatoes as a kid, and those were able to produce fruits from a small windowsill setup. Just a thought if you're unable to grow these as well. Have you tried asking the neighbor about when they transferred their plants, and maybe wher...

This looks very interesting. I'm a huge fan of pickles, so maybe this is an option!

Re: Cooking Authentic Finnish Food

The Mammi looks really delicious and I feel confident it's something I can make! As far as what she's already tried before, I'm not quite sure, but I'm hoping I get credit for putting in the effort :) After looking up Karelian, that also seems like a dish I can manage. Really appreciate the feedback...

Cooking Authentic Finnish Food

Greetings all, I have a question about home cooking some authentic Finnish food. She doesn't have much family here (We're currently in America) and I want to cook her something spe...

Re: Youtube and copyright rules of Finland

Youtube only registers copyright strikes if someone files a complaint. If someone DOES file a complaint, you can argue with Youtube, but it's very difficult to get them to actually listen, even when you're within your legal right. You shouldn't worry about actual Finish copyright law, but rather the...

Re: best area for living in finland?

Is there a good travel book or some other resource to get an idea of the climate and lifestyle of some of the different areas?

That could be helpful for general information, and it is something that I am looking for.

Re: residence permit through a job

Migri's website is fairly comprehensive. The answers to your questions are there, you just have to dig a bit. http://www.migri.fi/working_in_finland/an_employee_and_work I am looking for the answer to the "0-hour contact", and I cannot find specific information through that link. Am I mis...
