Why Fish are expensive?

Post by Rachel.P » Sun Jul 07, 2013 7:24 am

Hi
i want to know why are fish so expensive than other food items in Finland. We all know Finland is known as land of thousand lakes and many fish are found in the lakes. Whereas most of the other foods are brought from outside countries.

Haven't you noticed, anything "made in Finland" is more expensive than made elsewhere.
But you can go buy it cheaper in Tallinn too.

Then I think there isn't much in those one can collect with nets in large quantities (if you think it as job, not as a hobby). Muikku is the one the that comes first in to my mind, an indeed can be often found also from supermarkets for low or moderate price.
