Living in Kurikimäki, school?

Post by dreamstep » Wed Jun 17, 2015 11:10 pm

Hi, anyone knows schools near Kurkimäki? If we move to Kurkimäki, what are possible primary schools for children? Schools in Kontula only? How are those schools (quality, bulling, reputation, etc)?

You can give me private message:)

Thank you! I have information that there is no primary school in Kurkimäki itself. So they must be in other districs nearby.

What can we do if we already missed the application period (due to moving so late)?

The school that the kids by default are going (one may apply for other school, one is not necessarily admitted) can be seen from:
http://www.hel.fi/palvelukartta/Default ... en&city=91
Address search tab (Insert home address), choose "municipal services that apply to you". Blue dots are schools.
I used "Kurkimäentie 1" and saw three of them (the result might have changed if I had used some other relevant address). Botby is Swedish speaking, Lower stage is Keinutie, upper stage Vesala.

Kurkimaki is a nice chilled out area with two great parks nearby. The only crap bit of Kontula is the shopping centre.

That made me chuckle. Afaik you usually don't get grades until 4th or 5th grade and dishing out numbers is mandatory in 8th grade.
