Travelling to UK with Family

Post by Lullaby » Sat Jul 18, 2015 2:03 pm

Hey

Does anyone have experience traveling to the UK with family when one partner is European citizen and other a non EU passport holder and family resides in Finland? Same family name and traveling together back from UK but going on different times? What are the procedures for visa?

Visa is for visiting, Residence Permit for residing.

To give an answer to this, we first have to assume that with partners you mean married or registered partnership and the kids are born in Finland or other EU country and the EU nationality partner is the father or mother of these kids as is the non EU partner.
In that case, there is no problem because UK is also a Shengen country, so free travel without the need of visa for all (the Partner without EU passport has a permanent residence permit based on family ties in an EU country).

If anything else is the case than what is assumed in the first place, then things might get really complicated and visa might be needed.
If god would give us the source code, we could change the world
