pinoys in soumi, i badly need advise

Here's my situation...I'm a filipino med doctor in south africa for about 6 years, and now I'm seriously contemplating on pursuing my masteral studies in public health in University of Kuopio as a full time student. I just want to finish my masteral in finland as I have an on going immigration application to canada.

I'm almost halfway of being accepted. I was told by the program coordinator that I could do part time for 25 hours/week and full time on holidays to at least lessen my financial loads while I'm there.

Anyway, what I wanna know is -

1. How much are the usual accomodations for family of 3? student with family accomodation perhaps. Btw, my wife and I, are both going to the same varsity.

2. Living conditions - transpo/utility bills/health insurance.

I don't have problems getting survival jobs as long as it pays the bill.

a lil help, pinoys

Thanks

So 2nd weekend ko na dito, so far ang napuntahan ko pa lang ay Suomenlinna.
May masasuggest ba kayong ibang place na ok puntahan? Sulit ba sa Linnanmaki :D ?
Sa Espoo ako ngayon at baka pumasyal ng Helsinki bukas. Sana may kababayan na pwede
kaming samahan mamasyal-masyal buaks at makipagkwentuhan :)

Yeah, ganun sila... Like my online BF, hehe... I mean, hindi sya minsan palasalita..

Filipina ako and I'm here for 6months na I suggest if you want to ask things go to fb page Pinoys in Finland join the group and post questions. Huwag dito kasi tingin ng mga Finns mga aggressive tayo masyado. If you have questions about papers please google first and read official websites of immigration or embassy ba, wag tanong agad basa-basa din. Don't spark topic of racism because Finns are very rational and equal people. If na deny ang visa application mo it is not racism but plainly because you haven't passed their immigration's policy. It is the same anywhere in the world, you can apply, sure but it is every country's discretion wether to approve your application. Again, never drag racism in Finland. As far as I know finnish wives have the priviledge to be with their husbands however it is not a right as this is not our home country. Know the difference between priviledge and right. Finns hate people relying on social benifits kaya kung pwede never ask about this as well. Again go to official websites. They can provide you more info.

I would love to see you all sa fb page ng Pinoys in Helsinki. Please add me in your fb list as well, Tina Quinzylline. :)

nag join na ako sa group pero wala pa ako naadd..i just wait..well tama ka...finns are like that...pero d rin nila ako masisisi if i think like that...sa baba panaman ng tingin nila sa akin at i known pinays also have same experiences as mine...di ko rin ma gets why they make this kind..alam ko privilege n makarating ka sa finland but its also a rights...nakakawalang gana na kasi..sa hirap ng pinagdadaanan naming mag asawa...more than 3 years na kmi together and more than 2 years na kming kasal pinaglalaban parin namin ang pagpunta ko jan..if pwed lng talaga na dito sya tumira hindi na kmi dadaan sa butas ng karayom..

sana lng tlga ma approve na this time...

Hi mga Kabayan,
I am a Filipina living in Canada with my Finnish husband. We are planning to go to Helsinki sometime in May -June. I am wondering If any of our kababayan's out there in Helsinki who will have some free to spare with me when we get there? I just wanna have some ideas about the life of Filipinas there in Finland as my husband is convincing me to live there for a couple of years. I know it is still a long way to go but I am happy to have some conversation started before May comes. Thanks a lot!
Rowena
