Looking for a used car

Post by mumboman » Sun Jul 24, 2005 9:50 pm

In searching the web I stumbled onto a used car site Nettiauto.com. Are all the cars located in Finland and also I'm assuming Hinta is the price of the vehicle.(or is it the amount of tax I'm soon to have to pay.) If anyone has any suggestions on how to read the site let me know.

Yes no maybe. If the location is not in Finland then its not... "Ulkomaat" can also be an option. Also "tax-free" anywhere means its unhealthy to approach.

How would I read the site? Lets see now...
http://www.nettiauto.com/viewVehicle.php?id_car=372906
Tyyppi = type. Henkilöauto = person-carrier
Korimalli=chassis model Porrasperä= step-back (has a bootlid)
Väri=color Vihreä Metalliväri= ugly
Vuosimalli=year model 1995=newish
Mittarilukema=meter read 190000= well-screwed
Polttoaine=fuel Bensiini=1.279 at Neste
Moottoritilavuus=engine dispensation 1.8=lazy
Vetotapa=drive Etuveto=front wheels
Sijainti=location Uusimaa=Nylands Län
Hinta=price 3950 € = like really
Katsastettu=inspected 6-2005=need to worry at 6-2006 then

of course all of these have 2-3 options that are possible, and say a neliveto diesel pakettiauto would not be on the list of cars I want - unless I was going to go moose-hunting.

Thanks Hank. The price of a good old beater looks relatively respectable and probably cheaper than what I could buy the same thing here for.

Most of those are rip-offs, pricewise speaking. A few pearls around. You can always try to get first to the Keltainen Pörssi, but then again buying from a car dealer you have some sort of consumer protection.

I'm pretty good with the old vw's, datsuns, mercedes etc. so i'm just looking for a car that looks relatively decent, and I'll take car of the running well part after. To give you an idea Hank a good VW Beetle here would go for 8000-20000 CDN, You seem to be able to buy one there for a reasonable price 2000 euro. And who cares if it starts when it's -40 do you really want to be outside trying to start a car anyways. That's what they invented buses for.

The last beetle imported was 1975; and they're more or less rusted-out bangers. I should know, I have had several :lol:

Sorry Kris I'm looking for something that doesn't look as reliable. Something I can fix on a weekly basis for the fun of it.
