International Removalists

Post by tiinajk » Thu Oct 09, 2003 1:09 pm

Maybe this would be better in a "Moving From" listing but in lue I'll post here.

I wondering if anyone know's of any reasonable international removalists or other ways of shipping personal goods. I want to send some bigger items back to Australia (Dinner settings, sauna stove etc) that I don't want to post but nothing as big as furniture. The only places I could find on the web never returned my emails asking for further information and prices, I guess I'm not a big enough client.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Tiina

Thanks for that... I emailed them but they only do removals from the UK.

Are there ANY international removalists in Helsinki?

Hi Tiina,

I would be really interested to hear how you go finding a suitable company. I didn't have very much luck this Summer finding a company suitable to send things to Australia either, I ran out of time and ended up paying for boxes through economy mail. I was amazed that the posti didn't have a shipping option of 3 months like we do here in Australia.

So please let us know on this thread!

Good luck!

Victor Ek might be your best choice and overall pricing as well.

Most of the emplyees there speak good english so the language barrier wont pose a threat...(unless you speak great finnish, then you cut out the small talk with them and get down to business)..

general rule of thumb for prices..

roughly 500euro per square cubic meter....at least this is what I was told...going from the US to Finland...
