Ooh you are darm right! about the immigration system in other countries too. but at the moment we are living in Finland that's why we are complaining about it. Of course no one as forced use to come here. but we came here for a reason. if you have a problem reading about our complaints then F*****off you dont need to read this trends. We can complain as much as we can. and we have the right to write about our feelings in this.

You start to sound like a Finn. Finnish male to be exact (minus the feelings, we don't have any, so we obviously can't write about them).

Discussion
Forums prefer a premise of open and free discussion and often adopt de facto standards. Most common topics on forums include questions, comparisons, polls of opinion as well as debates. Because of their volatile and random behavior it is not uncommon for nonsense or unsocial behavior to sprout as people lose temper, especially if the topic is controversial. Poor understanding of argumentation theory and differences in values of the participants is a common problem on forums

KK  ...and not to mention the ease with which each and every obstacle and problem one may encounter in a foreign country can be labelled as "racism" (which may not only be a totally misplaced opinion, but also can divert attention from real problems and possible solutions to them  )

No, I mean that when I stop the bitching and moaning, I'm dead. And of course I feel something about everything, but can anyone else notice that?

Get over with your @#$% arrogance! Just because things don't run your way as smoothly as you would like, it does not give you the right to flame Finns of being racist. You can always hit the road if you are not provided with quality service by your standards.

I am not a xenophobe... that means I am afraid of strangers... quite the opposite, the strangers should be afraid of me  .

I'm an American, and if I wanted to go to some country in Africa, not only would I have to apply for a visa and wait a long time. I would have to get numerous of vaccines from doctor into order to apply for a visa. Do I think Africa is racist for making me getting vaccines in order apply? no. Plus, my old roomate was born and raised in Ghana. She moved to the USA, got citizenship in American and had to give up her Ghana citzenship (this was before the dual-citzenship was allowed). Everytime, she wants to go back to her home country, she has to apply for a visa and get all of the vaccines in order to apply. does that mean Ghana is racists against her for being an american and an ex-native Ghanan? Nope.

Business is Business, it's nothing personal.

immigration services in any country do not care about your personal life, so stop thinking if you roll out the 25 family pictures from your wallet it's going to make a difference. You either have the right facts & legal papers or you don't.

I also had the "experience" with Poliisi at Malmi Maahanmuuttovirasto. What a day! The young lady who interviewed my husband had no clue whatsoever into which category he fit, she only read the application but would not listen to our short summary of his situation. First we were given an application form meant for EC citizen (he is not one), after filling it she said it is a wrong form, another person was called to help, more filling form, then a 3. person (an older person who appeared to know what is going on) for further assistance.
In the next booth a foreigner was shouting so much, which unabled us to hear what was being said.
Altogether we visited the place 3 times, but did receive a residence permit in less than a month, so no complaints in there !

I would like to mention, that generally people in public offices, such as KELA etc. cannot answer any direct questions, instead they turn on internet pages and start reading them, not really knowing themselves what is written. Sorry to say, but everything seems to go with the book" here.
Even the banks give contradictory information, one bank says this, the other branch (of the same bank) says that. Try make sense out of it, fortunately I am of a kind who insists, and only in this way I get my rights (bribing does not help here).

Why are you sorry to say this?

It is not contradictory. They in most cases are not in any way tied by promises of another office.

If for one am registered as account holder in bank which is about 300km from where I live. Because I get from that office much better terms for everything.

tiwaz - perhaps my English is not so proficient, that is why I used the term "sorry to say," but did hope that people in this forum would understand basic English.
Sorry to say, DOES NOT MEAN that I am sorry. Get it ?
