I work and pay pretty high amount tax every month, I understand. But I meant, even if he is able to get money from government, it surely wont't give him a better lifestyle. For me it might not matter a lot, but he'd be the one, wasting his precious time, if he understands the importance of time or has any goal in life except to get in Finland.Pursuivant wrote:Yeah, the money comes out of the magic wall.dev wrote: It wont matter to anyone here if he doesn't get work for an year or two.

i can see the racism in your answer, coz a lot of you are immigrant too, and you want people from aboard to be in Finland, that's why a lot of you insist that i ask a resident permit from my home land, but not i'll be married to a finnish woman and i'll apply directly from finland and i'll come in a few months to tell u that i have it in less then 6 months
thank you

We don´t want you to ruin your life so we have to pay when you are starving. That´s all.i can see the racism in your answer,
Re: Need Information Plz
We don't condemn you based on your nationality, skin colour or religion. That is totally irrelevant.i can see the racism in your answer
We just respond to stupidity.
Ignoring advice is one, crying racism without reason only accentuates that you're isolating yourself from the Finnish society.
That attitude doesn't make you popular here.

So we shall hear your tale here after Suvivirsi...elidore wrote:i can see the racism in your answer, coz a lot of you are immigrant too, and you want people from aboard to be in Finland, that's why a lot of you insist that i ask a resident permit from my home land, but not i'll be married to a finnish woman and i'll apply directly from finland and i'll come in a few months to tell u that i have it in less then 6 months

I don't mind people coming here, if they don't interfere local way of life and can support themselves. If they can't hold their act together I will demand them to move back where they came from, be it Turku or Tanzania.
As for applying the permit in the country you are residing... of course everyone hopes you do so as: a) that is the proper way to do by the rules b) 493 got their RP on the grounds of "relative of Finnish citizen", 123 didn't. So it isn't uncommon to get denied the RP. (numbers from 2011 by the end of September).

OK, well, tell us then how it went. Before that there isn't much point continuing this the thread any more.

Processing situation of applications
based on family ties
Approximately 2,300 applications are pending in December
N.B! Residence permit applications for Somalis and Iraqis on the basis of family ties are not included in this number.
At the beginning of December 2011
approximately 2,300 applications on the basis of family ties are pending
the earliest applications awaiting processing to begin were submitted in April 2011
the earliest applications awaiting decision were largely submitted in January 2011.
Re: Need Information Plz
@ dev could u explain this to me, including to migri http://www.migri.fi/netcomm/content.asp ... ,2491,2496
Where to apply for the permit?
Family members of a Finnish citizen
Family members and minor, unmarried children of a Finnish citizen may come to Finland without having acquired a residence permit in advance and apply for the permit in Finland. They may stay in Finland while waiting for the decision on the permit application. If they need a visa in order to be able to travel to Finland they must file an applicaton for a visa with a Finnish mission. The mission then decides whether the conditions for issuing a visa are fulfilled.
People other than family members must stay abroad during the processing of the permit application.
In Finland, a permit application is submitted to the police. If abroad, the application is submitted to a Finnish diplomatic mission.
THEY SAY THEM SELVES I CAN APPLY FROM FINLAND WITHOUT A RISK
Who makes the decision to issue the permit?
The police make the decision concerning the residence permit application of family members and minor, unmarried children of a Finnish citizen, if the applicant is in Finland.

Re: Need Information Plz
Are we again back to from where we started? Who said you can't apply from Finland. You can apply if you are in Finland and you can stay in Finland and wait for the decision, which can be either positive or negative. There is no risk in submitting the application, but there is risk of getting rejected.elidore wrote: THEY SAY THEM SELVES I CAN APPLY FROM FINLAND WITHOUT A RISK
Now the decision time can take upto half an year. See the statistics above. The only thing everyone trying to explain to you was that you can save the waiting time, money and frustration if you apply from your home country.
Re: Need Information Plz
You may apply here. You're right about the part that it is legally perfectly proper. If it is the best course of action to do, is then far less clear (the fact that you'd apply here a few months later than could apply abroad tilts the scale to a certain direction).elidore wrote: THEY SAY THEM SELVES I CAN APPLY FROM FINLAND WITHOUT A RISK
Unless they decide to transfer the case to Migri, which they may do.The police make the decision concerning the residence permit application of family members and minor, unmarried children of a Finnish citizen, if the applicant is in Finland.

Re: Need Information Plz
I think that polarizes the processing times even more: local police takes a bunch of applications, makes decisions on the easy cases and after sitting on the papers for a while sends the hard cases to migri.Rip wrote:Unless they decide to transfer the case to Migri, which they may do.
No risk? For migri, sure. For you, some financial and maybe some emotional. As I said before, about 20% of applications were rejected according to last year's statistics. Cross your t's and dot your i's and produce irrefutable proof of real relationship and you are good to go.elidore wrote:THEY SAY THEM SELVES I CAN APPLY FROM FINLAND WITHOUT A RISK

Re: Need Information Plz
now i agree with you, when u say there's no risk if i apply from finland, coz if i'll get a negative answer, it could be also the same answer if i apply from morocco, at less i'll be near my wife and i can ask the resident permit again when i'll receive the negative answer and i can ask help from association ... thing that i can't do from my country, so what's better now, i guess applyin' from finland, coz if the immigration will reject my file, they'll do it even i apply from morocco
Re: Need Information Plz
You do realize that your case isn't straightforward especially that you say that you've known your bride to be for three years and yet you haven't been to Finland. You hardly lived or been together and and you're still not married! Now all of a sudden you're so eager to come and get your permit. I'd really like to the see the look on the face of the people who will interview you when you tell them that story
By the way if you do get rejected, nobody can help you and you can't claim asylum.

Re: Need Information Plz
i'm sure i'll have the permit, coz my wife called the immigration services and the police 2, so we have all the information, and it's better to apply from finland, and i'm sure i'll have my permit
Re: Need Information Plz
Remember to plan also for the case you won't get the permit or that it takes a year to get one. Btw, don't confuse things, I thought she was your wife-to-be, not wife yet? If you start to mix things up, you'll end up confusing the people deciding your case and that will only hurt you.elidore wrote:i'm sure i'll have the permit, coz my wife called the immigration services and the police 2, so we have all the information, and it's better to apply from finland, and i'm sure i'll have my permit
