How long?

Postby Kaarina91 » Mon Feb 13, 2012 2:45 pm

So I dont write a whole novel ill keep it simple and short. I appealed the immigration decision for my residents permit. The court said they dont see a reason why I cant get my residents permit. They sent it back to the Maahanmuuttovirasto, or the immigration center as I like to call it, to have them review it.
Now my question is how long does it take for them to review it and make a final decision?
Anyone been through this? Anyone know of somebody thats been through this process?

same question "how long" but different info

I would like to ask how long does it take police officers to check the citizenship application? I read from migri.fi that it takes probably 2 - 3 months. my application has been submitted at police station 2.5months and I phoned them and asked they said there are too many applications "200 applications for 1 year" so my application is still there. well they said they dont know when they will send my application to migri. Is it possible they keep our applications longer than required ?

I turned in my application in november of 2010 and received and answer in may of 2011...... Am sure no one can give you or me a direct answer because each case is different, i just wanted to hear what people went through and how long it took them to receive their answers. And yes they did appeal it. The court did appeal it and sent it back to the immigration center.

So you mean the Supreme administrative court has already reviewed the case (after the decision of the local administrative court (hallinto-oikeus) or declined to do so? (I have a difficulty in understanding you)

The Turku Administrative Court. They issued a positive decision on Jan.30.12 Now its in the immigration office, being looked at again. Do you have an idea how long that takes?

That means maahanmuuttovirasto has atleast two, probably three, weeks time to appeal to the supreme administrative court and 2010 average decision time on immigration cases was 9,3 months. If they dont appeal in 30days from "when they should have received" decision then its legally binding.
Look your decision papers and check "appealing instructions", there is date what is probably decision date + 7 days + 30 days (7.3-12?). After that date call to migri.

Our lawyer said the court did appeal it, they then sent it back to immigration to take a look at again!
