trip to finland, rent a bus ...

Postby Dédale » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:16 pm

Hello, We are a group of 35 architecture students, accompanied by their teachers and will make a visit to Finland in September 2012. We would hire coach (then bus + driver) September 4 to September 7. We have already prepared a circuit and detailed (in the footsteps of the architect Alvar Aalto, the great master of architecture). The bus would be responsible to take us on different site ranging from Helsinki (the southernmost) Jyvaskyla (the northernmost). We find it hard to find contacts ... Does anyone on this forum has already done this kind of stay or could tell us who to contact? Which Finnish tourist agencies could deliver us what kind of services? We prenneur any info! : D thank you very much

Instead of a tourism company, you might have more success if you contact the architecture department at Aalto University

Doesn't sound like there is any formal relationship between Aalto University and your university, but they might be willing to point you in the right direction.

It would make it more easy for us to answer your questions if you'd tell us where you are coming from. But even then, I wonder: how are you going to go from "whereveryou comefromcountry" to Helsinki to Tampere (or was it Jyväskylä) and back to your "whereveryoucomefromcountry"? Are you planning on not sleeping at all? :D

To Jyväskylä it takes only 4 hours to drive. So you could basicly make it a daytrip as well.
Have a nice trip!Image

They are coming from France.

You might want to consider adding Seinäjoki to your itinerary. The civic center — and most prominently, the main church, whose bell tower is a distinct landmark in the area with Seinäjoki otherwise being quite a flat, low-rise city — was designed by Aalto. See here for more information.
