Rome here,escaping to survive

Post by Massi » Thu Sep 23, 2004 4:22 pm

Hey everybody...do you think someone without any specific skill who wasted his past 10 years playing soccer on the beach has a single chance to come to helsinki and find a hole (talkin' about rooms...) and an extremely low level job which allows him to work while listening to music...basically something that doesn't require contacts with other people, since all i can say in finnish is v!%#,kilpikonna, katkarapu and mita kuuluu and i'm even able to write those words - AND nobody understands italian, there - ok,in english i could talk, but i guess i prefer to work in silence being all alone, cleaning toilets or something,at the beginning...long story,i just need some time...then,in free time i can go out and make a mess with you all in the language you prefer, but we're talkin' about JOB,here...ah,i forgot - i know nobody there and i'm comin' anyway so any hint is gonna be really useful...
my name is massi....from Rome, italy - no,i don't steal stuff from people's pockets and i've got no guns or knives...
Do you think i can find a place,a TEAM in which i can play soccer,in free time...
Well,hugs everybody,and thanks in advance -
CIAO :)

For example, quite a few a friends of mine have worked at the Kesko warehouse in Hakkila, Vantaa. !"#¤% job, but it actually pays well. I'm not quite sure about the language thing, but check out http://www.kesko.fi/index.asp?id=ACA985 ... A5AFD4FA74
Warehouse and alike jobs in general might be a good idea.

Employment agency web site is http://www.mol.fi/english/index.html I'm not quite sure how useful they are. My limited experience suggests that employment would be better served by just shutting down the whole thing and using the money on something productive.

Finding a football club shouldn't be too hard, you could try asking Palloliitto http://www.palloliitto.fi/palloliitto/english/ As for an appartment, try http://www.oikotie.fi for starters.

Ciao Massi! I think you can get some help from an association of Italians living in Finland: you find them at this site.
Good luck for your moving and feel free to post me any PM, I'm Italian myself...

PS: Why don't you start playing ice-hockey once in Finland? Football here doesn't pay! :(

Anyway,as you know,italians don't consider football "a sport"....we're getting into a serious subject ;) we're talkiin' about religion,here !!
Thanks for the website,i'll go and take a look,i think it could be really helpful, considering my knowlegdge of finnish, basically the same a vegetable can have. And thanks for everything,i'll let you know everything :D

Italians have problems playing football in Finland.

They have some esential requirements..

1: Grass...
In Finland from End Oct until End April it is under snow.
2: Warm sun shine...
We only have it from End June until End August...
But it also rains during this time...here we have a pitch inspection.

If play is allowed Italian still have the need for...
http://www.daviddino.com/david6.gif
Almost all sold out in the summer..

So on the rare sunny days when there is grass and ice cream to be found..
The Italian still cannot play football in Finland..

Because we have no Blind stupid referees that believe that guys rolling in agony 10 meters from the nearest other player has been fouled.
A few random examples..

However there are other reason why Italian guys might come to Finland and forget about football for a while..

LOL!!!!! great post.... the pitch inspection was the best...of course, except the last 2 pics, the reasons to forget about football for a while....those 2 girls are CUTE...damn...the other one...less,but it's ok :D (kinda picky, here ;)
well...now,the point is: isn't there ONE INDOOR SOCCER FIELD??? 5-a-side,it's the same,i don't need 11 against 11,i'm fine also 2 against 2... :D
ah,by the way: i'm born in totti's area,2 minutes from his house but i d NOT roll on the floor aftera foul....and i play in his same position!!!! (well, not exactly, more like CASSANO position :D)
now, serious question? are finnish girls racist? anything against italian thiefs spaghetti eater mafia, over there, people? I mean,i had problems in some countries, and they were not because of my behaviour...i hope at least girls there don't hate italians or like the latino guy,or i'm over...
;)

 I beg your pardon and I'm sorry for the mistake...all mine!!!
You know, I must have mistaken writing the URL ***.fi with ***.it

PS: I don't know if I can write the site name, that is why I've put the stars instead. I've edited my previous message now, but you can find the site also here

Sorry again
