Question regarding RP

Post by shab86 » Tue Jun 09, 2015 4:21 pm

My RP application for researchers shows this:

09.06.2015 The decision regarding your application has been made. The authority concerned will contact you.
09.06.2015 Application decision is being notified.
09.06.2015 Application has been initiated.
30.05.2015 Application has been received.

Does this mean my application is rejected ?Please advise.

No. It means that the decision has been made. It can mean you got your RP or that your application has been rejected. Last year there were 618 applications, 20 were rejected: http://www.migri.fi/download/57709_Ratk ... 09a241d288

I was just worried about the fact that it took so less a time to make the decision. Does it happen so quickly?

Based on your posting history

A) You'll get your permit
B) You have a problem with worrying too much
Does it happen so quickly?
It seems clear you fulfill the requirements (if you did not blunder filling the form) + presumably they make some database searches that you're not in any "no entry" list. Beyond that, there is no point from their point of view to spend more time with processing - a delay that neither you or (more importantly) their boss will be grateful.

Thanks @Rip and @Upphew for your answers. I agree that am worried a bit too much on this issue. Reading other posts in the forum and the migri processing tmes, i thought that the whole process might take upto a month or so. But the whole decision was made in a day so i got panicky !! And, yeah i do agree that if there is proper documentation then there should not be any problem. I just visited Finland via Frankfurt for the PhD interview a month ago , so i know am not in any "no entry" lists :D
Thanks anyways though. Do I have to email the embassy to know about my application decision?

I just noticed on other's posts in the forum that everybody gets their application "Being processed" status. But in mine it jumped from "Application has been initiated" to "Application decision is being notified" status.

Does this happen? Is the "Being processed" stage ever skipped?

Try to be a bit less impatient.
The authority concerned will contact you.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

I'm just a few days behind you - applied online and appeared in person June 1 and a decision was made by June 5. I'm now waiting on notification. Just wish I had some idea of how long that may take (applied as a specialist, fyi).

Anyone else have any idea on how long it may take to get notified? I will presumably be notified by mail.

I had a notice to pick up a registered letter from the post office last night when I got home - it is from immigration. I will go pick it up today - hoping it includes a permit but not sure if it will be there or not.

Congrats. So you've received your residence permit card within two weeks of approval, right? I received my approval & waiting to receive the permit card by post. I am wondering where are you from as you've received your card quickly.

Thats because one who looked his/her application could do decision right away without escalating it to further. So there was no further processing.
