Fastest way for family to move to Finland - Specialist Visa

Post by vividcode » Wed Jan 13, 2016 1:39 pm

Hi Everyone!

I am newbie to the forum so please excuse if I step on any assumptions.

I am moving to Finland on a Specialist visa very soon (ok, maybe a month - depending on when they approve my application).
I am yet to file my application, but I will do it this week.

I want to bring my spouse + kid along with me. However I see that it could take 9 months for family ties visa.

If this is true, its too depressing.

When I contacted embassy helpline, they said that if applied together, we will get it together - within 1-2 months.

1 - Is this assumption true that if we apply together, we get it together?
2 - I don't know if my visa may get approved / rejected - so spending for entire family visa seems risky. Is it really necessary? Or is there a workaround to get them there early without risking application fees?

thanks for guiding me in advance,
-vC

Visa is for visiting, up to three months, residence permit is for residing.

1) yes
2) no, either you apply now together or you apply after you get your RP.
