citizenship question

Post by Lavinia » Thu Aug 11, 2016 1:10 pm

Hello, this is probably not the right forum, but here it goes; I can't understand one thing from the citizenship page and that is :

from this page
http://www.migri.fi/suomen_kansalaisuus ... asumisaika

At the top, is written :
Sinulla on riittävästi asumisaikaa, jos olet asunut Suomessa

viimeksi kuluneet viisi vuotta keskeytyksettä (yhtäjaksoinen asumisaika)
but at the bottom it is written:
Sinulla on vaadittava kielitaito ja kiinteät siteet Suomeen

Jos sinulla on kansalaisuuden hakemiseen vaadittava kielitaito, riittää, että varsinainen asuntosi ja kotisi on ollut Suomessa

viimeksi kuluneet neljä vuotta keskeytyksettä
So now I am a bit confused, I mean is it four or five years? Like I can easily prove I have way stronger ties with Finland than my birth country, which I haven't even been visiting since 2014. I think they don't mean a souse with "stronger ties" because there's a specific section for that.

If anyone has any clue thank you :)

Strong ties --> four. The criteria for that seem to be quite relaxed so usually people qualify for it.

Cheers! I thought so, but because it's expensive to apply I wanted to double check :)
