One thing I discovered is that people with a certain attitude always have problems with the authorities. Just nothing ever goes smoothly for them. While others, who don't have this attitude, have no problems getting everything they need.

In all the years in Finland I never had any problem in all my dealings. I treat the people working for the authorities nice, with respect and like human beings. And they do the same to me. I would highly recommend trying this approach.

I also originally did get my KELA card too late. I called KELA on the hotline, talked for a minute, and 3 days later had my card.

Well, in the end it is like parents and kids in the store. Kid wants candy, parent wants fruit. Kid throws a tantrum, gets no candy and no fruit. Parent has a bigger want. Better want fruit, you might get bananas and apples.
