Henkilökortti

Post by nata_lv » Tue Dec 19, 2017 12:11 am

Hi! Could you please share your experience about visiting police office for getting Finnish ID? I'm EU citizen and I have my Finnish henkilötunnus since 2013. Now, I finally moved to Finland on permanent basis (I hope so) and would like to receive Finnish ID card for EU citizen. An interview in Police office - what they can ask? Did anyone go recently to the police office with similar question? Would appreciate any information! Thanks

There is no such Finnish ID for EU citizen... There are different ID cards for Finnish citizens and for foreigners....
They have difference colors and the one for foreigners cannot be used as travel document.

To apply for one, there is no such interview, just apply online or in person at police station and you get it if you are eligible to.
