hello everybody!

question..is it possible to apply INSIDE of Finland for a Resident Permit based on family ties?

i have two children, they were both born in Finlad and they live there with their mother, one is 14 years old and the other is 7, right now i live abroad but im in the process of getting the custody of my kids, and im planning once i get the custody travel to Finland as a tourist and apply for recidency while im there. Someone once told me that it is allowed that you can apply in finland at the police station but i wanna be sure i wont be breaking any laws. thank you the help guys i apreciate it.

Have you seen migri.fi? https://migri.fi/en/my-child-is-in-finland ? "If you are abroad, visit a Finnish mission (embassy or consulate). If you are already in Finland, book an appointment at a service point of the Finnish Immigration Service."
So yeah, you got it almost right, but switch the police to immigration service. And be prepared to live in limbo for 9 months.

Visa is for visiting, Residence Permit for residing.
