I had applied on 18th July 2011 from Finnish Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal.
I had called Embassy earlier they told me to call migri and i mailed them later got an email stating all decisions will be made by september.
After that I have not heard anything from embassy of Immigration.

@garefield, i applied on the 11th of july from Nigeria. I called migri last week and i was told to exercise patience that my application is still waiting. Let's hope we get the permit this week

I must say finland immigration is really bias about the issuance of resident permit. People who recently applied have got their permit while those who applied since june and early july are still waiting. It's totally not fair and discouraging

migri statistics 2010. Google translation but youll get idea.

On the other hand the Finnish schools selected Cameroonian, Ghanaian and Nigerian kinds
more than half of the students received a negative decision oleskelulupahakemukseensa.
Generally, a residence permit remained without either forged documents or incomplete
livelihood
due. Counterfeits were found as well as personal, educational and work certificates
that the bank statements and insurance papers. Ghanaians students
permit decisions on the negative was 57%, 58% kamerunilaisten and Nigerians

@Silka321, I dont understand what you mean to say. Did you apply for the resident permit and was denied? If so, I think you can appeal instead of waiting till next year to apply again.
Does anyone know about the appeal process? He should tell @Silka321 if he was denied
