Problem with my Smartphone

Post by PhiDi » Sun Oct 09, 2016 12:13 pm

Hello guys,

Yesterday I had a Problem with my Smartphone.
It was I think -5 degrees and my phone shut down.

Do you have any solution to avoid that this happens again??

Thanks for your answers
Phil

Get a new battery. Keep it warm. I haven't had my phone shut down due to cold, but I keep it in my pocket and my thigh is not likely to be under 0°C. Are you sure the -5° and phone shutting down are related?

I second the battery hypothesis.
Lithium batteries are very susceptible to performance degrading in cold temperatures. This seems to be even more pronounced with older batteries.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

I had the opposite issue with my iPhone it always gave me warnings when I was sharing mobile hot spot and my phone was connected to the laptop. I got high temperature warning and I had to put my iPhone to fridge for a while to "cool down" so it work again.
