The essential question is, are you interested in remaining in Finland for the purpose of studying. If yes, make your case to the officials.

The best course of action to be honest. Lying on your application is a surefire way to get your application rejected.

We're all humans and sometimes motivation is not there. Sometimes the Finnish hard winter can catch people by surprise, and it can affect your brain's chemistry in ways you might not immediately realise, so you might be having some mental struggle on what to do with your future, have difficult time at school, and end up not managing your priorities right. Now that you have your study plan that you're fully committed to, you'll probably be doing your best to get back on track in the next year. There's probably also a course where you did very well and you were an exemplary student liked by the teacher, so maybe the teacher can write a letter supporting the continuation of your studies.

The important thing is to be honest and explain your situation. The authorities will very likely understand.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.
