International Polar (swiming) Bear Contest.

Post by PeterF » Wed Sep 24, 2003 10:27 am

It seems as though foreigners club in Thailand have an annual International diversion from the massage bars..They play this sport in their own World Cup.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/funny_o ... 133046.stm

Thinking what idiot sport could we borrow from the Finns for our own world cup.??

My suggestion is "In Door Team Ski Jumping!"

Those of you who visited my place after the last Vantaa vandals session (and who were not totally pissed) might recall that I have certificate for Ski Jumping 105 meters on the wall.
The very Small prints points out that this was acheived at Lahti. ..yes.. .the World Cup Ski centre..(but in the simulator)....
I nominate Sara as captain of the British team. I am sure the Clog dancers from Netherlands can provide a team.
I suspect Finns and Yanks are disqualified for drug abuse already!

Appoint five of your team, and we gather five of ours and the first swimming 25 meters will win the trophee. 8)

(This is only exercise, not really the ice-water)

    Time: 18.00 u
Place: I will take care for the sauna about 40 km from Helsinki.

Daah the challenge from the Cloggers is:
"Appoint five of your team, and we gather five of ours and the first swimming 25 meters will win the trophee"
Where do I find 4 more Idiots willing to prove to the Dutch that +6C is nice and warm water and will be easy for us to win what ever the trophee might be. (I suspect it will be a stone bottle containing something like Korinvine..cant spell it but can remember it!"

    Peter Floyd,

    Is this enough:

Oude genever van Korenwijn, will be the trophee.

Against a bottle of Scottish whisky?

Team of five needed, all five in the water, but they don't necessarily need to the whole 25 meter. The first one who finishes, wins.

You have already Olly and Sara,

I had to change the Thread name so that it might attract 3 more Idiots.
I still think in door Ski Jumping is a better option ..Only place I like Ice Cold water is in a glass topped up with Scotch!
I am sending the Dutch secret message to our Netherlands office to find out what their secret plan is..
i.e. "dat er niemand anders kan winnen"
We Brittish do not cheat. .but filling dutch men with lots of beer black pudding before the swim is not cheating

Four volunteers requested to form the team of winners.

Peter, who are the members of your team?

    Well, well....

The Dutch team is near to full, but the team of King Henry isn't there yet.
    What's that... afraid of water?
Aren't there any Scots hiding behind the Hadrian's wall?
Did the Wales hide themselves down under the Devil's bridge?
Do you need help from the Commonwealth?

Remember we still have to take revenge for the loss of New Amsterdam!
    We haven't forgotten that one.

Be gentle with them... They can't help it... They've never dealt with Dutchies before, OBVIOUSLY...
