He is only 21 and his SL team mates have voted him club captain, that almost says enough in its self.

It would be a classy midfield with him and Arteta in the same team but they 'd still need some grunt to replace Carsley tho.

It would be necessary for Moyes to sign a new deal first! :?
Yup, a replacement for Carsley is right at the top of the list. As is replacing Andrew Johnson, it would seem...

I'd also like to see us make a move for Zoltan Gera, he's knocked the Baggies offer of a new contract back.

Any idea what's going on with Wyness, DK, Moyes and Moutinho? I'm almost too scared/depressed/tired to use t'tinternet right now...

Magic: any thoughts on Arshole Whinger's transfer activity?

We let Mr. Wenger do all the thinking and just sit back and watch the sumptuous feast he lays before us.

Wilshere, Vela, Ramsey, Nasri, Walcott, Randall all only slightly older than Gary Glitter's latest squeeze but set to take the p'ship by storm.
I'm happy and prouder as an Arseanl fan to watch quality, youthful signings who gel together and play incisive football (sometimes with no end product :( ) rather than Arsene splashing cash on big names and trying to buy the title.
Don't want Barry/Alonso/Arshavin etc. Arsene could buy 5 or 6 quality players for the cost of one of those.
Expect the record for average age of a fielded premiership side to be broken this year.

Us villa fans arent happy campers when you look at the progress of some of the teams competing for 5th spot or the last champions leagus spot if one of the big 4 was to have a mare.

Manc City have have paid top dollar for a striker - we ll just have to wait and see how that goes, I do like a little piece of Crouchie and reckon he ll do well with Harry - but when you look at Spurs signings this summer and if you add their mid season additions from last year such as Woodgate, Hutton and this season will be Gareth Bales first proper season - they look quality

We have added 2 keepers and what I think is an above average centre mid - but if we loose Barry its a net loss. I dunno what MON is gona pull out of his hat - so far we ve been linked to Nicky Shorey maybe Pizarro but with Drogs injured and Kalou away at the olympics god knows if they ll sell even an average striker

as for Salopians lot - its not much better and Birmingham have gone and made Carsley captain

I agree i think Spurs are looking very strong, although like you said they did last season also, i bet they are looking for a better start this season. As for my team "man city" lets hope the new the money on the new striker pays off. As for Barry...he has to go now doesn't he? surely he can't stay after everything?

Spurs will probably have a quality side once their done buying in a new batch of strikers. But, with so many new faces, how long before they actually start playing together? Maybe next season they'll be right up there.

As for the Toffees...the news is we're after Alan Smith   :x

Liverpool could have raised some of the cash to finance a move for Gareth Barry with the sale of Dirk Kuyt - but the Reds scared off Hamburg with their £16m valuation of the Dutch striker. (Daily Mail)

16m for Kuyt! are the 'avin a giraffe? Ok he played well in the dutch system, but 16 big ones. Nonsense.

Nobody can ruin a striker quite like the waiter, it seems.
Kuyt was a clinical finisher in Holland, was turned into a poor winger at Liverpool and was given the (frankly insulting) title of 'defensive striker' on one of the football management games. Now, to add insult to his refusal to get an injury, fantasy premier league has him listed among the Liverpool midfielders.
He'll be playing as a libero come Christmas.

Peter Crouch must have been singing Amazing Grace when he heard 'Arry was back in for him.

^^^^^^Yep we were sh*t.

Liverpool were lucky b*stards last night.
Man city have just equalized (og) against FC Midtylland (whoTF?) with three mins of stoppage time remaining.
Extra time coming up. Lucky lucky b*stards.

The result was never in any doubt  you just got to forget these games and look forward to the draw...Besdies they put up a great fight, much better than hapless West Ham at the weekend.

Good win for the Honkanese last night taking care of Viking Stavanger 2 -1 away from home. :D

They 'll also be in the Euro Vase draw today.

We might well be a premiership side at the Pudding Bowl in the not too distant.
