Do you think that we will see (Summer or Winter) Olympic games in North Europe sometime again?
Or has it all grown too much?
One hundred years ago they were in Stockholm and 60 years ago in Helsinki..
Would be awesome to have something that big, but I have a bad feeling about it...
For one, ist the infrastructure of the event places in any of these nordich countries good enough? Do the cities even have the possibility/will to enhance it to meet the conditions?
Olympic games in Scandinavia
Re: Olympic games in Scandinavia
Finland would need to build bigger hills for alpine skiing and Olympic committee isn't so hot about splitting the games.IluvIt wrote:Well the winter Olympic games are kinda possible to be hosted by Scandinavia in near future since the cost arent so expensive like the summer olympic games, however still the infrastructure need to be improved

Lillehammer hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics and will host the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics.
Last time I went there, Norway was still in Scandinavia.
And Finland does have alpine ski slopes (Levi is on the World Cup circuit: 10th-11th November 2012)
Re: Olympic games in Scandinavia
Biggest slope in Levi has height difference of 325m. Men's Downhill needs 750. There is/was plan to Put some 300m more height to Tahko and dig a 200m hole on the bottom.Rosamunda wrote:And Finland does have alpine ski slopes (Levi is on the World Cup circuit: 10th-11th November 2012)
