I stayed up for the game with a fellow Finnish-Canadian... these games are always terrible because I cannot bear a loss for Canada, but at the same time, Finland also deserves it. Plus I'm in Helsinki and not in Toronto, and I want to be wherever the party is.

Ruutu's goal was beeee-you-tiful. My jaw was all over the floor. Although I was also blown away by Lemieux's catching that pass backwards for an assist, and Brodeur's work in the 3rd period.

And who was the bloke singing the national anthem? Couldn't they find someone who could stay in one key?

I think Finland shouldn't be too disappointed; they've gained a lot from this tournament and their level of hockey is upped a notch for sure. Too bad Kiprusoff didn't have his best game last night. And also -- totally clean hockey! Nice!

Now what we need is for channel 4 to broadcast Don Cherry instead of those monotone, expressionless Finnish commentators.
