Sport Supplements Store in Fi

Post by mmike » Sun Feb 20, 2005 10:23 pm

Hi,

I need to buy some supplements ( protein, carbs etc ), but WellMax here in Turku is f*** expensive. Do you know any other shops? Preferably online?

BTW I also want to buy Tyrosine which is an over the counter antidepresant in most of the countries. Can I buy it here in Finland?

Thx!

Well, tell me anything that isn't expensive in Finland...

Magic word is "lisäravinteet" google gets you quite some online stores.

And pay 50% more due to the shipping ;-)
Can you recommend me any shops ( English etc) that would ship to Finland?

Not really, I'm a skinny and happy with it kind of guy :)

But surely it isn't too hard to deal with an online shop in Finnish?

Try some of these (googled)

http://www.urheiluravinteet.fi
http://www.netmix.fi/products.php?g1=d79e13
http://www.aminoporssi.fi click URHEILURAVINTEET menu
http://www.jvi-sport.com/cgi-bin/shop/index.cgi

poke around and use the search function for what you want.
when you've found what you need at the price you want, tell us the store and we can walk you through the order process. click this, select that etc

Another option is to click on the link that says yritys, yritysinfo, yritystiedot, or yhteistiedot, and then just call the phone number and (try to) order by phone.

Or better yet, ask around at your gym. Locals should know better.

Hi Mike,

don't know if its exactly the right stuff you're after, but have you checked the protein and carb supplememnts on the ground floor in SOKOS, in Turku? They are in those big tub like containers on the shelves between the main checkouts for the supermarket and the newsstand. Worth a look?

Its the big white building that has the name WIKLUND in big letters, on Kauppiaskatu. If you stand in the square facing the river, its the left hand corner. How's that?

:)

And obviously new to Finland..
Sokos is a chain of Hotels..yep...
But it also has a Chain of stores...In Helsinki the confusion is compounded..
The store is in the same block as one of the Hotels.

SOK= Suomen Osuuskauppojen Keskuskunta " Finnish Co-operative Stores' Central Organization"... I can't figure where the OS comes from - joint-stock maybe.

So you have HOK and such... OK means a co-op.

Thanks a lot for help.

The store is even more expensive than the Well Max is
So I still have about 3 weeks to find a cheap place. I can get some from Poland but I am not sure about the customs. Shipping is about 30e.

If anybody wants to join, let me know. It is about 2x cheaper than in here and they have stuff from the usa and europe.

So there is a cheap store in Turku. It is in Hansa. You can get whey ( 80 %) for about about 14e/ 900gr.

Yeah!
