Lions tour

Post by Karlos » Thu Jun 09, 2005 4:52 pm

Hi all the pernnial question of rugby watching.... I'm a kiwi moving to Finland and playing for the Helsinki rugby clkub. The Outback Bar in town is showing the Lions Maori game delayed at 7pm - does anyone know anywhere to watch it live? Secondly, does anyone know a sports bar in Joensuu - will be there for the crucial test matches.

And a bit of a plug, if anyone is interested in playing rugby (no experience needed) just drop me a line.

And hi to any other kiwis out there

Kia kaha
Karl

Mate, you're lucky to find it being played at all. The main games will probably have better coverage though.
Have a search on these forums for "rugby"... there's been discussions in the past on where the best places to watch it are.
There's a few Kiwi's in Finland, just keep an ear out for the accent (it sticks out a mile on the bus)... and then there's the Aussies who are always good as surrogate Kiwi's too

So did you see the ABs slaughter the Fijians last night?
An excellent display from the B side... makes you wonder how many many of them will make the A side.

Might be jumping the gun (hope not) but lets see how the 'B' team goes today...
Hope you get to watch it live, can't believe that in the UK you have to pay Murdock and his SKY empire to watch what should be a great series, can't even listen to it on the internet......... BBC 5LIVE EXTRA are doing a radiocast but you need DAB or digital TV.........Sad state
Other half of takaisin suomeen - what a partnership!!!!
