Kela support

Post by Mizu1993 » Mon Feb 05, 2018 5:32 pm

I ask since half a year for Kela support. But Kela does nothing, basically really nothing. They always say that they work on it... since half a year. I already called, write mails, nothing happens. I am unemployed, I have a 3 month old baby, I am engaged to a finn who is working and we are living in an apartment. I have heard from other foreigners too, that they get no money, no support, because of exactly that reason, that Kela does nothing. Can that be normal? :?

I doubt that you or those other foreigners have cameras in Kela's offices. They most probably have a couple more cases of foreigners who just want support without ever having paid taxes here.

The duration is absolutely normal, yes. It used to take 3-5 months a few years ago to get an answer, and I read it got a couple months longer when Merkel's guests started to arrive in the thousands. Not sure how long it currently takes, though, but certainly more than 6 months.

Not sure if I got what you are asking. If you are talking about Kela card then it does not take long. I am Indian origin and I got my card in 4 weeks (decision + card in 4 weeks). I have already paid a lot of taxes and still paying. I attached salary slips and tax information too in application.

If you are talking about support after getting card then I cannot say anything but I know, there are many people who are taking advantage of Kela support, they just want money at home :)

Btw, why dont you work, it has been 6 months, I am sure in six months you can start doing some work?

Depends the benefits, not all are linked with family income.
