Helsinki "survival guide"

Interesting information for anyone who has just moved to Helsinki. This "survival guide" was created for international exchange students etc but could be useful...

Pretty good. There is actually similar "survival guide" moving to Helsinki for people "from the countrryside" the HS prited a few years back.

The "survival guide" at the HUT is very good for people moving to Espoo, but also in general for people planning to studying:

Generally the schools have pretty good "howto" guides for exchange students so if moving to a town, find theior pages and you might be surprised.

The Ministry of Labour has quite many guides as well dealing with settling down in Finland. Guides are pdf, and available in English and Finnish. Topics include:

- Beginners Guide to Living in Finland -- Asumisopas Suomeen muuttaneille
- A home in Finland -- Koti Suomessa
- An enterprise of your own? -- Oma yritys? Mahdollisuus maahanmuuttajalle
- Are you planning to move to Finland? -- Suomeen muuttajan opas
- Asylum seeker in Finland -- Turvapaikanhakijana Suomessa

The IAESTE trainee's guide is perhaps the most complete one.
It' s updated every year, has a table of contents, a very useful index and a PDF version..
