English Speaking Hairdresser in Helsinki?

Post by Colette » Sat Dec 09, 2006 10:02 pm

I'm looking for a good English speaking hairdresser in Helsinki. I was thinking about dying my hair so I'm looking for a good hairdresser. Especially since I have never dyed my hair before. I've gotten highlights, but have never completely dyed it. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,
~Colette~

I just can recommend: Naps --> Helsinki, Yrjönkatu 3 (http://www.naps.fi/)

I went to Volyme, a tiny place just west off Mannerheimintie (Tölöön halli tram stop). I had my hair coloured and cut and I was very happy with the service and final result. No language problems as their English was quite good.

And how much did you pay for the same (Colour + Cut)?

is about a place which has an English hairdresser. I guess English people speak okay English.

Never tried him myself tho. I tend to go to Päämaja in Kamppi

There's a Finnish-Lebanese guy there who knows how to cut curly foreign hair such as mine, which is good considering how often Finnish barbers just don't have much experience of such things and tend to butcher it. Name of Mahmoud.

My wife Saara is excellent. She's actually in Tikkurila but it's real easy to get to from Helsinki on the train. She's very experienced and skilled having worked in TV, photoshoots etc as well as salon work. She's also a make-up artist and barber.
