2nd hand furniture store

Postby mellon » Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:55 pm

Hi,

Anyone can suggest me where can I find a 2nd-hand furniture store in Helsinki/Espoo/Vantaa ? A bigger store is more preferred, so that I have more choices. The thing is I rent an apartment without any furniture, so I will need to buy some, and prefer to buy in a 2nd-hand furniture store which is cheaper. If you know any, please provides the address and name of the store. Thank you!

Hi, Rip,

THank you for your reply. Do you mean Kyläsaari shop and Matinkylä shop in you provided link have 2nd-hand furniture for sale?

Yes, those two. Both have large amount of furniture. Kyläsaari perhaps had the larger selection of the two, but I don't remember the situation well enough to be sure.
(Vantaa is closed, and Hietalahti is a small location with mostly small items)
(Espoo location may be in two buildings next to each other, so if you can't find furniture, then ask somebody (the written signs may or may not be in English). Kyläsaari just had more than one floor under the same roof)

Kierratyskeskus shop in Kyläsaari is big, the whole upper floor is dedicated to furniture, you name it, it is there.
The shop in Hietalahti has also sofas, tables, chairs, but no beds.
You could also try various FIDA shops (charity shops) in Helsinki.

Even some kirpputorit will have some furniture & smaller stuff. For example the ones in Itäkeskus, on the other side of the street from Tarjoustalo (close to Jysk). There are at least two stores there, next to each other, and they sometimes have furniture.

FIDA and Pelastusarmeija are options (especially if the location is practical), but aren't they all quite small compared to Kierratyskeskus (Kyläsaari or Matinkylä)?

(larger size was preferred)

Yes, these options are much smaller, but easy to reach by metro and maybe worth a try. Just giving the OP some more potential options.
