Warning for people living in/near Turku
Re: Warning for people living in/near Turku
You don't lend your money to the countries, you lend it to their banks. And then why so much agony to lend that money in the first place? </thread_hijacking_not_started_by_me>

Even if you have diamond, gold , silver or crude oil it is people that still needs to buy them. Without people there is no sales ! The great britain is hosting the Queens diamond jubilee and soon going to host the olympics. this is a serious cash injections to their economy for this year and businesses will blossom. A lot of countries have started Protectionism when the economic recess hit the world and were slowing down on so much stringent rules and laws in a trade and unionise agreements. Just keep trading with your closest neighbours, and keep the relationship cordial. We are getting to a time of rescue and bailout your self and economy .
Re: Warning for people living in/near Turku
new tactic round here is for "beggar" to ring bell on front door, & while you deal with him, a second "man" is round the back door. Hasn´t happened to us yet, but was in local paper about this happening in pensioners´homes recently. Whenever I get hassled in tampere, usually at the bus stop, by the regular beggar lady, I just get out my phone & point the camera at her & she runs away fast. she walks a long the bus queue, while we are waiting, asking each one of us individually, & she gets so close to your face it is scary. The other people usually turn their backs or ignore her. She always approaches me if I have a child with me, very unnerving!
Allie the Britmum, "äiti" to 3 boys, 10,9 and 7, & little princess, 4.

What do you mean "new"? Those deaf polish students been circulating since Eila Kännö retired.Cory wrote:Thinking about this afterwards, I wonder if this is a new tactic of the Romanian beggards. Pose as students panning off their goods so that they can get more access to homes without looking too suspicious. This guy tried to door handle and when he found it open, he went inside the house.

Oooh, such racism and xenophobia! Finns really need to be educated in the benefits of multiculturalism!Cory wrote:On my way home, I witnessed 2 incidents in the kauppatori. An older Finnish woman was yelling at an old beggar woman panhandling.. She told her to leave the country and never come back. Yes, the municipal elections are coming, remember to vote for the Greens and Left Alliance, their polling adverts are sitting on the streets already!

hmmm Seems like the camera works better than any thing else to keep them away. I guess they don't want their picture available to the police.

In a big scale the problems are VERY small.
The big problem is, that Romania isn't helping its citizens enough, especially gypsies. There have been allocated funds from the EU, but not a great success.
We should help them in their own country as much as possible. The accusations, that for example Romania, was taken into EU only because of cheap labour, would have to be declared for me as well.
It's not an easy thing to be in the same union when the cultural differences are huge.
Hopefully things will progress in near future!

It's fooking big for the victim.j.juuppeli wrote:In a big scale the problems are VERY small.
As a society, we have a duty of care towards everyone's security, especially if they're from the more vulnerable sections of our society. If there was some benefit from having these wasters begging in the street, then some might accept a cost/benefit analysis argumentation. But there isn't. So the problem needs solving, now, before it grows out of control.
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

My condolences Cory but at least you and your family weren't hurt and none of your belongings were stolen. I hate thieves..

Re: Warning for people living in/near Turku
There isn't any reasonable reason why Romania's unwillingness to help it's citizen's or the gypsies unwillingness to help themselves should be our problem.j.juuppeli wrote: The big problem is, that Romania isn't helping its citizens enough, especially gypsies.
Re: Warning for people living in/near Turku
Pretty much all that and a bag of chips... I don't see how Romania can be a country in which someone can call 'asylum' on anyway... Somalia perhaps, but Romania?Rip wrote:There isn't any reasonable reason why Romania's unwillingness to help it's citizen's or the gypsies unwillingness to help themselves should be our problem.j.juuppeli wrote: The big problem is, that Romania isn't helping its citizens enough, especially gypsies.

Well, I really miss Eila Kännö here. If she were around, she would have caught those Finnish losers and shipped them by Sea Wind boat to SlussenCory wrote:

Correct, and what if people do not want to be helped? If they have not been evolved for many generations and just benefiting from other societies they cannot expect anything. Why do the people who have their things in order pay the bill for the ones who make the mess? oh yes it is called EU. I am not willing at least.Rip wrote:There isn't any reasonable reason why Romania's unwillingness to help it's citizen's or the gypsies unwillingness to help themselves should be our problem.j.juuppeli wrote: The big problem is, that Romania isn't helping its citizens enough, especially gypsies.
