Thank you all for you suggestion. Since I have already collected my passport I don't see a reason to go back to police but perhaps I will return it to post on PL 18, 00581 Helsinki as written on the decision.

Some people get the decision almost on the same day of supplying this supplementary information and some have been waiting for 45 days.

What have been the range of times people have had to wait for getting the decision after being asked for "supplementary information" (i.e. documents like travel after application date, last salary slip)?
Has there been negative decisions after a longish wait (e.g. of more than 1 week) after supplying the supplementary information?

Thanks in advance. Any information would be helpful.

Hello,
I have two questions.
First, is there any difference betwee the service points for the waiting period? My friend's choice was Kuopio and got it last week after 8 month while other friend got it in 6 month from Helsinki. If there is a difference which service points is the best to choose in our application form?
Second, I am applying with my wife's income and she is not a Finn and since she doesn't have a language certificate yet she is not going to apply with me at the same time. I also will apply with 4 years of resident permit type A. Can it be a problem without income and applying with 4 years? Is there anybody else with same situation who got a positive decision? Currently I am a university student.
Thanks

It might be illegal to keep the perMit in your possession.

Hi,

I see a lot of posts in this forum with many useful information. However there are two things that I have not seen being mentioned:

1) The 8-9 month estimate is an average, and it does not mean that every case will be processed after that many months. Some cases might be processed after 6 months only (as there were different people saying that their cases took that long) and others for whom it takes about a year, and average of all those numbers is currently around 8-9 months.

2) A friend of mine has heard from an officer at migri that there are separate processing queues for people from different country of origin. So, there might be less people from a certain country so their queue might move faster. However, I don't think this means that if there is for example one person only per year from country X, that person's case will be processed immediately after the visit to migri!

Just to some up, it is not possible to draw a conclusion about how many months it will take for an individual's case to be processed based on the overall estimate. And for the information shared in this thread to be more helpful, it makes sense for people here to also mention their country of origin if they are comfortable to do so.

Good luck to everyone!

Less than six months..... Woooow that's super fast and Many congratulations @suomi1.

It seems like the queue is moving fast and depending on the simplicity of the application decisions are being made faster than before.

Congratulations for those who already received positive decisions and Good luck for the rest who are waiting to hear from Migri.

Have a nice weekend!

Did all of you passed the language test before applying to citizenship?
