That's personal information and none of your business. Obviously, it relates to one of the 4 requirements not being met and they want to know why.

Hello podzap, I was just thinking if they ask for recent salary slip or job contract etc, otherwise no need to tell here any kind of personal things :lightbulb: , thanks.

How about it being none of your business since you're not the person being asked? If the other person is not comfortable sharing something, they'll let the other person know.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

I think a person can always ask. No harm done in asking. As this is a thread for everybody's cooperation I guess this may actually help somebody.

They asked for latest pay slip. That's all.

Thanks for the kind wishes. Cheers

@ TheDee . Could you provide the history(date and time) of your application processing? Did you have to submit extra documents? Thank you!

@ nahiyan and @TheDee. Which city did you apply for? Congrats both of you!

Hi, I need some advice. I want to apply for citizenship but I have some little issue. I applied for my permit extention few years back but it took over 1 year before I got a decision for the extention.
Can my waiting before the decision be considered as been part of my stay here in Finland?

Residence period corresponds to the period mentioned in your permit. If you were granted a residence permit from the date when you applied (which normally is the case) then it is counted.

You need to have fulfilled the residence period when you applied.

Hi guys,

I just want to ask for an advice. I applied for citizenship last november 2016, everybody knows that it will take 8 to 9 months or even more. However, my working permit will expire october 2017. My question is do i still need to apply for permanent residency or extension of my working permit? I just booked an appointment this May in Migri. i am thinking of applying of permanent residency this May so that whatever decision i will get will supplement my stay here. am i doing it right? I need to decide fast because as i read in news that it will take a lot of time for migri to release permit to foreigners because they have bulk of applications.
i hope someone will help. Thank you.

You need to renew your permit, if you qualify for permanent residency then apply for it.

Applied on 5.10.2016.
Processed 29.3.2017
Decision 29.3.2017
I have a total of 4 years with 3 years on B, and 2.5 years on A. No additional documents were asked. I am a PHD working with grants (no work contract) for the last 3.5 years, not married to a Finn.

So it took only 6 months for my application. I was surprised how fast they processed my app because on their website it is said 8-9 months.
By the way I recommend the trick of applying few months before you fulfill the time requirement. In my case I fulfill 4 years on 22.3.2017 and I applied on 5.10. So I sent my app 6 months before meeting criteria. However 6 months could be somewhat risky because they processed my app one week after my fulfilled date. If they had processed it before 22.3 then probably I would have been rejected. Anyway it is your call to take the risk.

Good luck for all.
