Hi,
I am holding an A permit, and my ex-wife also has her A permit based on family ties. We just had a divorce and she has gone back to her country.
I have the following todo, but I am not sure if they are enough or not
- Notify KELA that I am no longer married and my ex-wife is no longer in Finland
- Notify migri that I have a divorce and I have nothing to do with my ex-wife residence permit
Is there anything else?
Residence permit after divorce
Re: Residence permit after divorce
Neither one of you need to inform Migri (They should get the information from from maistraatti, and a move on permanent basis abroad is a reason to terminate her permit here, but you do not need to contact migri directly).
Your wife should inform KELA and and "maistraatti". i don't think you even can (without a formal written authorisation) do it on her behalf. The online services require her banking codes, paper forms her signature.
Kela link with downloadable form:

Apparently the maistraatti form is not available online. Presumably she has no banking codes here any more. If you're in speaking terms with your ex, could pick the paper form from maistraatti or post office and mail it to her.

She doesn't have a bank account here so I guess I will have to mail all the forms to her or ask her to fill them and send them back to me..Rip wrote:Neither one of you need to inform Migri (They should get the information from from maistraatti, and a move on permanent basis abroad is a reason to terminate her permit here, but you do not need to contact migri directly).

It is not really your business, nor even your job to do any of this.
By all means, be nice and send her the papers. But that is it.
Migri can easily find out on their own if she has left. And for sure Kela does too.
She's your ex for a reason. Move on and just worry about yourself. The only time you need to worry about Migri is when applying for a new permit. They'll contact you earlier if needed.
