Hi everybody,
I've applied for citizenship earlier this month (yeah, it's gonna take ages).
My application was submitted the day I was laid off, so I had attached both my salary slips and the IAET kassa payments (as of showing social support).
I'm married to a Finn, but guess what, we now live separately.
Is there anyone here who has been in the same situation? or even if you were in either of those - were this perceived as obstacles in your application?
Many thanks!
citizenship and unemployment
Re: citizenship and unemployment
OverJoyed, I was in almost identical situation, except the fact i am not married. I got my citizenship without any problems, they did not even ask for any extra document before the decision. Payments from unemployment funds are recognized as official source of income, so you should not worry about this.

Yes, I applied and was on unemployment benefits. I uploaded every month slip during the case time. Got decision without supplements. They accept benefits as source of income in citizenship application.
