I've been watching - rather intensively - many episodes of the David Suchet's 'Poirot.'
The attention to the Art Deco of the 20's and 30's is really astounding - and beautifully done.
(Alvar Aalto visited Miami Beach in the 20's and the visit was an inspiration for a good part of his 'Funkis' style later.)
Art Nouveau was a predessor 'in curves' - and the Americans added embellishment ( of course ) with Art Moderne later. Sweden (and Finland) offered what can be thought of as a simplification - with Functionalism - but, of course, it also stands on its own.
My question is if anyone has found some place or company in Finland paying particular attention to this architecture and interior design style?
One company - Rakennusapteekki - is doing something but I am wondering if anyone knows of more?
