hi all,
are there any places that I could buy a few pouches of desiccant silica gel (I think they might be called silikageeli in Finnish) so I can keep them in my shoes? In the capital region.
or do I need to buy them from Amazon?
Nope, osta silikageeli on google did not help!
thanks.

Investigate the various cat litter brands - some are actually silica gel. No, I didn't believe it either until I actually went and looked!
I'm away from home at the moment so I can't say what the brand was that I bought but it came from Tokmanni, and there were enough clues on the packaging that I could be sure I was buying the right stuff. It even has the blue-pink indicator traces too, so it's obviously just the bulk industrial product in a big bag with a picture of a cat on the front

Is that the same thing?

Rosamunda yes that's exactly the stuff. You can see the blue indicator (cobalt chloride I believe) that changes to pink once the moisture levels in the product reach a certain point. It can be dehydrated in an oven for reuse (not for reuse as cat litter though ) instructions can be found by Googling.
I discovered this years ago when looking for a cheap supply for keeping metal parts in storage rust free, and it's been working extremely well.
