Do any of you work remotely (from home, or working/living from country to country)? (ie, a "Digital Nomad", who can work from anywhere, by doing stuff like web design, etc)
If you're a Finnish citizen (like me), do you spend half the year in Finland to keep your social security benefits? (I read that 6 months in Finland is minimum for this)
Or do you just use the money saved by living abroad to finance your retirement?
What do you do about taxation?
And how do you receive payments? (I know some DN's who are freelancers just get money sent into their Paypal)
Do you use AirBnB for accommodation?
I am just getting started, or hoping to, and would love to hear some of this practical info!
I have already had a good job (and paid good taxes) in Finland for 20 years since moving here from Canada but I am ready to take it easier and move to some warm countries
Any Finnish "Digital Nomads" here?

I'm interested in doing this. I live in Helsinki and work in software development but would like to move to the Finnish countryside for cheaper property and a more peaceful life. Any tips for getting online software development work that pays well?

In case you like warm countries, one option in Thailand is this: https://iglu.net/

Thanks, that looks cool. I have seen some other similar groups on facebook for Digital Nomads who want to meet up and live in the same community.tavastia wrote:In case you like warm countries, one option in Thailand is this: https://iglu.net/
However, I prefer to meet and be around local people in these different countries, not just hang around other westerners, so I probably would just look for accommodation through AirBnB or similar outlets.
